The
Ska movement came crashing to the US shores via Madness. At first
thought to be a novelty act, those of us in the know quickly realised that this band was serious in its insanity. A fun pub band that rocked. Always a great combination! |

Essentially
a compilation, this record has almost all the hits from Madness'
career. 'Our House' still holds up as a loving paean to life in England while feeling a bit scathing at the same time. Or maybe that's just me. Plus, 'Night Boat to Cairo' and 'House of Fun' are ska-pop classics if ever there were any. |
