Aahh . . . Brit Pop! What a truly wonderful time in music history! Band rivalries, catchy tunes . . . harkened
back to the golden age of the sixties, and the original British Invasion. unfortunately, too many Americans still
had their heads stuck in the grunge movement to notice that truly exceptional music was being made, full of
positive emotion - not the negative moaning of a bunch of no-talent millionaires pretending to be poor. No
pretentions with Brit Pop - just tellin' it like it is! Along with Blur, this is where it all started.

This one just exploded all over England. So much so, that it was even felt over here in the US!. If ever there
was an album that personified the Britpop movement of the 90s, this was it. Sadly, Oasis could never
duplicate the success nor artistry of this record. Oh, and 'Champagne Supernova' is the best.

Aah, the Coke of all cocaine albums; overindulgence at its best (or is that 'worst'?). Noel Gallagher was
reported to be in the studio screaming for "more guitars!" on every song. I think 'D'You Know What I Mean?'
has like 37 guitar tracks alone. Definitely for fans only. Incidentally, this album broke Creation Records due
to its high cost and the huge drug bill, too. Seriously.

Now down to a trio (bass player and guitar player left in a well-publicized [in England] split), the Gallagher
Brothers
soldiered on with this record. While there are some good tunes here, it's painfully clear that Oasis
will never be as good or as influential as their hereos, The Beatles. Once you get over that pompous air they
have about them, you can enjoy Oasis for what they are: a band with some good tunes.

Their first album with the new lineup. Again, nothing new here. While there are some good tunes here, the
album overall doesn't do anything for me. Another nail in the coffin of rock 'n' roll, apparently.
